This morning after breakfast you'll depart for Serengeti National Park, taking boxed lunches and stopping for  a tour at Olduvai Gorge, a steep sided ravine in the Great Rift Valley of the eastern Serengeti Plains. This gorge is an important prehistoric site, referred to as "the Cradle of Mankind", because it is the site where the earliest human remains have been recovered, dating back 2 million years. In the afternoon take a game drive in the rolling grasslands of the Serengeti and then arrive to your camp for the night. Nasikia Central Camp consists of 12 semi‑permanent tents. Each tent has beds and a private bathroom. Although somewhat rustic it is a comfortable way to enjoy African camping. There is also a dining tent and a lounge tent. A generator is available until 10pm for battery charging but most lighting is provided by kerosene lamps and candles.

Rhino Lodge works very closely with local communities. Almost half of our staff are Maasai and the other half, Iraqw.
